Ol’ Blue
USA’s “Big Wheels, Little Kids”©
Program Rocks in Rockfield Kentucky
With a remarkable gathering of close to 560 students
watching, Ol’ Blue, USA began setting up for
the Big Wheels, Little Kids Program at Rockfield
Elementary School. Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement,
Warren County Community Services, and Warren Kentucky
Sheriffs Department hosted the event.
In the picture below, the Sheriff’s car is
33 feet from ‘Ol’ Blue’s front
bumper before you can see the cars “brake
lights.” The Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement
car on the left side of ‘Ol’ Blue’
is in what is called the “blind spot”
and can only be seen in ‘Ol’ Blue’s
little 5” mirror.

While RJ Taylor was giving instruction to the students
on the blind spots around big rigs and other large
vehicles, Mr. Damon Tabor, the Principal of Rockfield
Elementary School, seemed to run for cover as one
of the teachers, Ms. Renick, got behind the wheel
of ‘Ol’ Blue’, pretending to drive
while assisting RJ with instruction to the students.

Assisting with the “Big Wheels, Little Kids”
Program were:
Deputy Tim Ausbrooks with Warren County Sheriff’s
Department
Officer George Offutt with Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement
Ms. Beverly Steele, Asst. Coordinator with Warren
County Community Services

Under the Ol’ Blue, USA program, “Big
Wheels, Little Kids” school visitation program
takes ‘Ol’ Blue’ to schools to
give students an up close and personal view of the
safety considerations around large vehicles, car
drivers, bicycles, and pedestrians.
