“Big
Wheels, Little Kids”© Program Rolls Into
Kentucky for the Start of the 2003 Safety Tour
On a sunny but cold day in March, the Ol’
Blue, USA Big Wheels, Little Kids Program rolled
into Oakland Elementary School for the first stop
in the 2003 season. Students of Ms. Beverly Eller’s
class greeted RJ Taylor with colored pictures while
approximately 225 students gathered outside to learn
of safety around large vehicles. Warren Kentucky
Sheriffs Department, Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement,
and Warren County Community Services hosted the
event.

As instruction was given, Mr. Mike Taylor, Principal
of Oakland Elementary School, sat in ‘Ol’
Blue’ and pulled the air horn.

Assisting with the “Big Wheels, Little Kids”
Program, helping with the continued success of educating
children were:
Deputy Maxie Jones with Warren County Sheriff’s
Department
Officer George Offutt with Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement
Ms. Beverly Steele, Assistant Coordinator with Warren
County Community Services

Under the Ol’ Blue, USA program, “Big
Wheels, Little Kids” school visitation program
takes ‘Ol’ Blue’ to schools to
give students an up close and personal view of the
safety considerations around large vehicles, car
drivers, bicycles, and pedestrians.
