Ed and Carol Ropp, Owner Operators of a small
trucking company in Cable Ohio and Mr. Rick Smith,
Triad Board of Education President arranged the
Ol’ Blue, USA’s Big Wheels, Little Kids© school
visit program for the Triad Local School District.
Two days and four schools, a task hard to achieve,
but by the work and dedication of these professionals,
the program was a success. Due to the heavy rains,
the first school visit, Graham Middle School, was
rescheduled for the following day. With over 500
students, RJ Taylor, Founder of Ol’ Blue, USA was
not about to let the children down.

As the rains continued on the morning of the 16th,
with the assistance of the Principal, Mr. Jake Conley,
Trooper J. Kramer and teachers, the program was
finally presented to the children between downpours.

Due to safety reasons and the conditions of the
wet pavement, Trooper J. Kramer of the Ohio State
Highway Patrol became the eyes of the students during
the presentation. Trooper Kramer viewed the blind
spots a trucker faces, he was able to show the students
just how far out one must be in order to be seen
by a driver.
Under the Ol’ Blue, USA program, “Big Wheels,
Little Kids” school visitation program takes ‘Ol’
Blue’ to schools to give students an up close and
personal view of the safety considerations around
large vehicles, car drivers, bicycles, and pedestrians.
