Ol'
Blue®, USA
is on the road again with its yearly Safety Tour. The two weeks
between the time Ol' Blue, USA leaves California and arrives in
Louisville, Kentucky for the Mid-America Trucking Show, is filled
with exciting events bringing the Ol' Blue, USA message to radio
listeners across the country, demonstrations at rest areas and
schools, and four full days of preparation for show time.
The
first event is scheduled for the early morning of March 11, when
RJ Taylor will be a guest of Bill Mack on the Midnight Cowboy
Trucking Network at www.midnightcowboy.com.
Starting at 12:00 a.m. and running until the wee hours near dawn,
this program is a favorite coast-to-coast. You can call in on
the Shell Rotella T Hotline toll-free number, (800) 288-9227.
Next,
on March 14th, Ol' Blue, USA will join a demonstration, by Kentucky
Vehicle Enforcement and the Bowling Green Police, about driving
safely around large vehicles. This event will take place at the
Simpson County rest area on I-65, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The night
of the 14th RJ will be a guest of Dave Nemo on the Road Gang Radio
Network (listener line 1-800-344-7623), from midnight to 5 a.m..
Road Gang has a radio audience from coast-to-coast and on the
web at www.theroadgang.com.
RJ will answer questions about Ol' Blue, USA and all the related
safety programs Ol' Blue, USA brings to civic groups, schools
and the trucking industry-at-large. On the 16th the team will
move to Louisville escorted by Sgt. Ben Hawkins, Kentucky Vehicle
Enforcement who has become a valuable team member for a school
presentation of the organization's "Big Wheels, Little Kids"©
program. Another "electric" radio program is scheduled for the
night of March 18, when Ol' Blue, USA and RJ will be guests, along
with David Grizzell of Toy Convoy and Tim Young of the Mid-America
Trucking Show, on the Truckin' Bozo Radio Network (listener line
1-888-860-TRUK) heard coast-to-coast and on the web at www.thebozo.com.
Then
the hard work really begins with the laying of some 550 square
yards of red carpet, setting up booths and taking the polishing
cloth to 'Ol' Blue'® and its Rolling Billboard
Trailer in preparation for opening day for the 28th Annual Mid-America
Trucking Show. For the next 3 days, March 25-27, Ol' Blue, USA
will be on display in its Safety Center '99 booth,
#200 in the East Wing, to see old friends and make new ones. Stop
on by and say "Hi" to the Ol' Blue, USA team and law enforcement
from Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement, Kentucky State Police, Indiana
State Police, Ohio State Highway Patrol and Tennessee Commercial
Vehicle Enforcement! Making all of this possible is Ol' Blue,
USA Sponsors, Michelin Tire, Shell Oil, Alcoa Wheel, Webb Wheel
Products, Mid-America and International Trucking Shows. Many thanks
to the California Highway Patrol, Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement,

the Safety Tour '99.
