MICHELIN
PUBLIC SAFETY VIDEO AVAILABLE
ON Ol’ Blue, USA's
WEB SITE
August
2003 – GREENVILLE,
S.C. –
Ol’ Blue USA, a
non-profit public charity
dedicated to educating
the nation on highway
safety, has posted “The
Critical Factor: Maintaining
Control in a Rapid Air
Loss Situation,”
a public service video
provided by Michelin Americas
Truck Tires, to the charity’s
Web site, http://www.olblueusa.org/video/streaming/tire_blowout.html
The video teaches drivers
how to best maintain control
when a tire experiences
rapid air loss. Approximately
10-minutes in length,
the video explains how
rapid air loss can influence
the way a tractor-trailer
behaves and how to compensate
for any changes in handling.
Copies of the video are
also directly available
from Michelin Americas
Truck Tires and can be
ordered by using the “Contact
Us” form on the
company’s Web site
at www.michelintruck.com.
Many drivers have posted
messages on various driver
Web sites about the video.
A typical posting is one
from Lynn Marker, Lackawanna,
N.Y., which says,
“The Ol’ Blue,
USA team and Michelin
have presented a winner!
The video is very informative
and well done. It presents
safety information in
such a way as to be easily
understood by most people.”
