Officer Ms. Dana Proffet joined the Indiana State Police in November 1987, going to work in its Motor Carrier Division. She has worked both at scales facilities and in portable districts - meaning roaming the districts in a police vehicle with portable scales.

In the fall of 1990, Officer Proffet has been assigned to the Indiana State Police’s Sellersburg District, where she operates portable scales in six counties, on interstate highways as well as state and county roads, enforcing truck laws.

During her time in the Sellersburg District she has also been involved with law enforcement public information operations. She has done truck shows with Ol’ Blue, USA, and has represented the Indiana State Police at state fairs, trucking company events, taught the No-Zone Program in grade schools, among other things.
